Beautiful and sharp
This knife actually scares my girlfriend, it just slides through anything. The first time she used it she said "oooh, this is good...I need to be careful."You can slice anything you want as thin as you need it. My demo is usually grapes or tomatoes thin enough you can read the print on the blade. The Damascus is actually just a layer over the blade, more of a protective layer than anything, but it is fairly smooth. The blade is high enough quality that it will last for generations if it is taken care of.The handle is big enough for my hands, I wear an XL glove, and comfortable. The shape of the blade does both chopping and rocking with ease. It's a little pricey, even for Henckels Zwilling, but if you want Damascus, this is the knife to get.

Best kitchen knives you will find!
I love to cook and having the right tools makes all the difference in the world. There are no better knives on the market than these knives. Period. Yes, they are expensive, but worth every penny. I have 4 different KRAMER by ZWILLING EUROLINE knives and I use them every day. They keep their edge beautifully, but of course like any knife, you will need to sharpen them occasionally. These knives also make the PERFECT gift for someone who loves to cook. Buy it, you will not regret the purchase.

Lighter than expected
Great ergos!!!!! I’m a fairly large guy with big hands who loves to cook. Wife got this for me for Christmas this year. It’s replacing my 12 year old Henkles classic santoku. Beautiful balance. My only criticism at this point is that it doesn’t carry as much weight as my old santoku however I was able to cut paper thin tomato slices right out of the box. Also not a hollow edge like my old one so it slices differently but beautifully. Super happy with the product. Looking forward to the next 20 years with this blade.

Hermoso

Absolutely awful packaging for such an expensive knife
Product arrived damaged. The box is terrible for shipping, it’s massive and it’s easy for the blade to move around inside the box, which is exactly what it did. The knife was protruding from its product box into the oversized FedEx box that it was in.The blade is also slightly bent, around the last 90%. For something this expensive, I really would expect Zwelling to invest in packaging that makes sense, like at least placing the knife in a protective sheath. It cuts just fine, but the ever so slight bend is noticeable, and I have resistance out of the box on cutting an apple peel with the upper 1/3 of the knife. The Damascus design looks ok. Honest I was expecting a little more dramatic, it’s fairly flat and two toned in nature, almost like feeling coated or painted on.The feel of the handle is ok, but the curve in the knife actually makes this feel very similarly to a traditional western chefs knife without the tip. The curve is so pronounced, when sized next to my Wusthof chefs knife, the curve is almost exactly the same, it’s just missing the tip.I was *so* disappointed the moment I opened the outer box, I’m pretty sure it ruined the moment for me. Which could totally be preventable with packaging that doesn’t suck! This is so cheap for such a nicely designed blade. But given the initial first impression, it’s not living up to the hype, and it makes me wish I would have considered the carbon steel version of this instead.

Glorious to behold
...and hold. Got it for hubby's WOW Christmas present, and he is over the moon. Razor sharp. And the box was in perfect shape when it got here, so no problems with that as others seemed to have. Delighted with it.
