Q: Can this unit be calibrated to work with Potasium chloride?

Q: How can i remove the brine tube and the drain tube from the aquatrol digital control head?

You will need to remove the locking clip first. Then push and hold down the rings that are around the tubing and pull the tubing out of the connection.

Q: 1) is this an up flow high efficiency system or standard? 2) what size will I need if hardness is 11 GPG, iron is 3.5 ppm, 2 bath, 3 person house.

The system employs the counter-flow method during regeneration. When in normal service, the system is a downflow system that pushes water down into the resin where it is softened. When it is regenerating, the flow reverses and becomes an up-flow system. Based on your household size and water hardness the 32,000 Grain Harmony Water Softener plus Iron Removal (fine mesh resin) would be ideal for your home.

Q: With the premium mesh resin do you still have to use the iron out salt? is it helpful?
