Not an anime person, but was led into seeing the film which I loved so, so much I looked for content/material aside from the film and found this visual novel and got it in time for my 22nd birthday, was very glad about that.I reckon almost everyone here has seen the film, so know the storyline. But, if you haven't seen the film you probably won't like this book if you are not interested in a story mainly about loneliness, depression and a little bit of complicated love.The VN storyline is mostly identical to the film of course, however a few sentences of the dialogue/thoughts have been translated slightly differently (or added in some places and removed in others) compared to the translation/writing in the film, which I liked because I felt some lines in the visual novel made more sense to have been said/thought than in the film. I also thought the artwork of the main two characters appearances was quite sweet.If you are offput about the book being a bit bland compared to the film you could find the full OST (soundtrack) online and listen to it while reading itOverall, great read personally as I liked the story, there are tonnes of metaphors to think about, and the issues are very relatable. I will keep this visual novel in my small collection of most meaningful person items, as it (and the film) did mean a lot to me. (It can only make me feel disappointed there is no translation for the 'proper' (non visual) novel of the story, (only in Japanese print) - I would have definitely bought that too!)

The story is short and never strays from the point. It’s a well written tale that keeps you wanting to read til the end. Nice artwork is well to keep you reading. Only problem is that it’s short and leaves you wanting more.

Of course nothing compares to the actual movie ! The garden of word is a 45 minute anime romantic movie by Makoto Shinkai. It's breath taking -ly beautiful and heart breaking -ly emotional. I advise you to watch it, before you dwelve into this. In 1080p please.Coming to the manga, first three pages are in colour rest book is sketching, like most Mangas are. But the art quality is top class. Provides a little bit more detail to the script but not more. That being said, I bought this only for my collection and not as token prize.I wish manga were not so expensive in India.

After watching its movie many times i finally purchased the manga !! Its absolutely beautiful , i have already read it twice! I loved it . I liked anime more BUT the manga is also very good and i loved the ending of manga more (which makes the story more clear) . And i always love supporting the artist! 💖

El servicio de Amazon fue excelente como de costumbre, llegó a tiempo y el producto presentó cero defectos, además de que el precio fue inferior al de portada.La calidad del manga es buena, papel grueso amarfilado, buen empastado que no ondula para nada las hojas, cero diálogos recortados, un par de hojas a color y portada de cartoncillo sin cubrepolvos, de tamaño muy similar a los mangas grandes de editorial panini aquí en México. Es un solo tomo.La historia es idéntica a la película excepto por un pequeñísimo detalle al final, pero no aporta nada sustancial nuevo, además de que obviamente carece de la belleza visual de las películas de Shinkai. Por ello, recomiendo el manga sólo para los fans más ávidos. En lo personal estoy muy satisfecha con esta compra.

Der Manga orientiert sich sehr stark an den film und umgekehrt. Der Zeichenstil des Manga ist wie im Film wunderschön und gefühlvoll.Eine wunderbare Ergänzung und für jeden Fan des Films ein absolutes Muss und nur zu empfehlen.

No cabe duda que la editorial Vertical sabe presentarnos tomos muy bonitos y con mucho detalle. Tiene el tamaño mas o menos estandar que se manjea comunmente e incluye al principios algunas paginas a color. Enteramente en ingles (Nivel basico-intermedio)Vale mucho la pena para tu coleccion si eres seguidor de la obra de Makoto Shinkai y si ademas te encanto la pelicula. Afortunadamente Amazon cuenta en su catalago con los demas tomos de las demas peliculas :)
